Santa Rita

Long before, the community called as "To-to" or "water drops" since there was a water drop in the middle of the cliff and dropped into the river. This is where the people drink water. According to the elders, at the cliff where there are water drops, people saw a very beautiful woman who took a bath at the water drops and suddenly disappeared. And there were times also that the people smelled the scent of a flower. All of these were witnessed by the people living in this community.
In the same place, "To-to" there was a living couple named Agustin Libor and Leona who were very religious. At night, when Agustin slept, he dreamed of three young girls, commanding him to make an altar using the cover of their jar that was made of "tugas" tree. That happened on Monday Night but Agustin didn't bother to do so. The second time, Agustin dreamed again and commanded him to make it because the cover of the jar was sacred. But still Agustin didn't. On the 3rd Monday, on the third time, Agustin was woken up by the same three girls and commanded him again to make an altar using the cover because of its sacredness. Because of Agustin's frustration, he told his brother Tano about his dream but Tano didn't believe him.
Agustin prayed and praised.
Afterwards, Agustin made the cover into an altar. And Agustin together with his wife Leona prayed and praised at the altar. Until such time, there was a name that slowly appeared at the altar until they saw it clearly and it was "Santa Rita". Until then, the residents of this community made it work together and made an image of the sacred St. Rita with the use of the "tugas tree". And after so many gatherings of the residences, they made it to name this community into "Barangay Sta. Rita".
