The Local Government Unit of Asturias advises the public to take necessary health precautions amid the deteriorating air quality in Cebu associated with the continuing transboundary haze affecting parts of Central Visayas.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Environmental Management Bureau Central Visayas (DENR-EMB 7) continues to monitor air quality conditions across its monitoring stations in Central Visayas, specifically in Metro Cebu and neighboring stations.
At the current level ranging from very unhealthy to acutely unhealthy, air pollution may pose health risks to the general population. Everyone is advised to limit outdoor exposure and strenuous outdoor activities, particularly children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and individuals with asthma, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions. Wear protective masks if it is necessary to go outside.
Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring official advisories from DENR-EMB Central Visayas, the Department of Health, and the Local Government Unit of Asturias, as air-quality conditions may change depending on wind and weather conditions.
Please take the necessary precautions and prioritize your health and safety.
