Poultry Farm Issued Temporary “No-Chick-In” Order for One Grow Cycle

July 20, 2026

The Office of the Municipal Mayor has issued a Temporary No-Chick-In Order for one grow cycle against a poultry farm in Brgy. Manguiao due to repeated findings and the farm’s continued failure to fully comply with the required corrective measures.

Based on the series of inspections conducted by the LGU’s Task Force Langaw on July 10, 11, and 12, 2026, the task force found that the poultry farm had not yet achieved satisfactory compliance with the prescribed fly-control measures. The inspection team also noted the continued presence of flies and the lack of proper netting in the blower areas. These conditions may cause nuisance and concern among residents living near the poultry farm.

Under the issued order, the farm will not be allowed to load or bring in new chicks for one grow cycle. The restriction will remain in effect until all required corrective measures have been fully implemented and the inspection team has verified the farm’s compliance with environmental and sanitation requirements.

During the inspection, the management of the poultry farm committed to the task force and the Municipal Government of Asturias that it would use rice hull as litter material before the next chick loading. This measure is intended to reduce moisture inside the poultry houses and help prevent the recurrence of fly infestation.

The management also assured the inspection team that all necessary corrective measures would be implemented to address the problem and ensure full compliance with cleanliness, sanitation, and environmental requirements before operations are allowed to resume.
