Under the presidency of Cordova Mayor Cesar “Didoy” Suan, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Cebu Chapter held its General Assembly on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Fili Hotel, NuStar Cebu, Cebu City.
Majority of the local chief executives from the 44 municipalities of Cebu Province attended the meeting to discuss key local governance initiatives and inter-municipal collaboration.
Agenda would also include the chapter’s registration with Securities and Exchange Commission and Bureau of Internal Revenue, Treasurer’s Report and Updates on National and Provincial Concerns.
A discussion about plate number registration per local government unit was discussed by LTO Regional Director Glen Galario.
The event was also attended by DILG Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla who was in Cebu to launch the nation’s first Regional Command Center for the Unified 911 system following the launch of the National Command Center (NCC) in Manila in September 2025.
The command center is a major component of the DILG’s strategic vision to create a centralized, next-generation emergency response network across the archipelago. It will serve as the crucial nerve center for immediate and coordinated emergency responses for the entire Visayas region.
Gracing the event alongside Secretary Remulla were DILG Undersecretaries Serafin Barretto Jr., Jon Paulo Salvahan, and Marlo Iringan; DILG Region 7 Director Leocadio Trovela together with the region’s provincial/city directors and division chiefs.
They were also joined by local officials, including Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro, Lapu-Lapu Congressman Junard Chan, Mayor Maria Cynthia King-Chan, Mayor Nestor Archival, and Mayor Thadeo Ouano. | 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗢𝗩𝗔 𝗣𝗜𝗢
