LYDO-Asturias and SK Owak Distribute 1,000 School Supplies to Pioneer Students of Asturias National High School

June 25, 2025

The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) of Asturias, headed by Jose Ariel G. Adolfo, in strong partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Owak led by Hon. Tim Jandell Serad, successfully distributed 1,000 pieces of school supplies to the Grade 7 and Grade 8 pioneer students of the newly established Asturias National High School (ANHS).

The ceremonial distribution was held at the school grounds and was attended by ANHS Principal Ma. Corazon Real and Owak Elementary School Principal Leonida Collamat, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for supporting the needs of their students.

The initiative aimed to ease the financial burden of families as they transition into a new school year and to show strong community support for the pioneer batch of ANHS students. Each kit included essential school items such as notebooks, writing materials, pen, etc. to meet junior high school needs.

LYDO head Jose Ariel G. Adolfo emphasized that the distribution is more than just about providing supplies—it is about building a strong foundation for the future of the youth in Asturias.

“This is not only a distribution of school kits—it’s a distribution of hope, motivation, and a reminder that our youth are never alone in their journey,” Adolfo shared.

The activity is part of the youth-led efforts to uplift education and empower learners at the grassroots level, aligned with the vision of the local government under Mayor Dongkoy’s Asturias Dumdumon Ta Program.

The event concluded with words of encouragement from both principals, who commended the LYDO and SK Owak for their active and responsive leadership, setting an inspiring tone for the academic year ahead.
