LNNHS Volunteers Respond to Owak ES After Typhoon Tino

November 23, 2025

In the wake of Typhoon Tino, Owak Elementary School suffered significant damage, prompting teachers and students of Looc Norte National High School to extend help in the spirit of “Mag-tinabangay Kanunay.” Moved by the situation, the school community prepared to offer assistance in the simplest yet most sincere way.
A challenge initially surfaced: there were not enough boots and gloves to ensure the volunteers’ safety. What began as a small hope was unexpectedly fulfilled through generosity and prayer. Ms. Richie Ann Castillo Tan provided the much-needed boots, gloves, and school supplies, while additional support came from Ms. Lalain, Sir Alan, Ms. Cai, Ma’am Riezl, Capt. Etan, and the PTA.
Through these blessings, donations were turned over to the most affected schools:
• Owak ES & HS – 25 boots, 60 gloves, and school supplies
• Nangka NHS – 25 boots and 140 gloves
• Kaluangan ES & Tagbubunga ES – additional boots and gloves
The LNNHS volunteers visited Owak ES not as heroes, but as neighbors—offering time, effort, and a steady presence. Throughout the clean-up, student volunteers demonstrated patience, compassion, and the true essence of bayanihan.
The day concluded with deep gratitude—for the generosity shared, the teamwork strengthened, and the renewed reminder that “Mag-tinabangay Kanunay” lives on through simple acts of care.
