About The Barangay
Long ago, despite the distance to the water source, only one household in this area managed to exist. After many years went by, a few households where people lived and raised their children were the inspiration for the name and creation of BOG-O. Among the Sitios in Barangay Tubigagmanok is Bog-o. Sitio BOG-O became a barangay Bog-o after Mariano Espana donated two hectares of land fo the school location. BOG-O, which derives from the term "BOG-OS," means "ONLY ONE," and Mariano Espana was appointed as the barangay's barrio captain.
Those who took on total responsibility for barangay governance and were given the title of "barangay captain" emerged in the modern era. The constituents choose the barangay captain for a maximum of three mandates, each lasting three years. Barangay captains Nicolas Postrano, Milagroso Dugmoc, Eulito Montero, Vicente Cojo, Wilma Casajuras, and William B. Bucay, who is now serving his term, were among the leaders in the barangay.
Deep religious ties to the village's past can be found in Barangay Bog-o. Every year, the barangay holds a festival in honor of Patron Sr. Santo Nino. Every January 18th, this has to do with how devoted this barangay is to the Holy Child. One of the 27 barangays in Cebu Province's Asturias Municipal Government is Barangay Bog-o. According to RBI records, there will be a total of 528 people living in 4 Puroks in 2024 (265 Male and 263 Female).
