ASTURIAS NEWS UPDATE | Asturias Recognized for 98 Units of Blood Collected in 2025 Mobile Blood Donation Activities

The Municipality of Asturias received the Luis Flores Award in recognition of the 98 units of blood collected through a series of Mobile Blood Donation Activities conducted in the municipality in 2025. The award was given on September 22, 2026 in a hotel in Cebu City.
The blood donation activities were facilitated by the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC), in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Municipal Government of Asturias.
The award was received on behalf of the municipality by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Keith Michael Jann Alasco, together with Sangguniang Bayan Member Hon. Margarita Cece and Mr. Shaun Baricuatro.
The recognition highlights the continued collaboration among health institutions, local partners, volunteers, and blood donors in promoting voluntary blood donation and helping provide a reliable blood supply for patients in need.
The Municipal Government of Asturias remains committed to supporting blood donation initiatives that contribute to stronger and more responsive public health services.
