The town of Asturias successfully celebrated its 147th Founding Anniversary today, under the theme “Honoring Our Founders, Living Their Legacy, Building a Stronger Asturias. “The event was initiated by the Office of the Tourism on Culture and Heritage, as an expression of great respect for history and leaders who have established and served faithfully for the town.
One of the supported parts of the celebration was the awarding of Plaque of Honor to former mayors of Asturias, a sign of recognition of their significant role in building and leading various phases of the town’s development.
Hon. Dongkoy Dumdum, the 27th Mayor of Asturias, presided over the ceremony. In his message, he thanked all former mayors for their immense contribution.
The celebration also included activities that celebrated Asturias culture, history, and talents, serving as reminders of the precious heritage that should be continued and proud of for future generations.
