About The Barangay
Long time ago, Barangay Agtugop was formerly called as Barrio. Wherein, there is a tree that grows beside the Agtugop Spring. Time by time, the tree grows bigger and bigger. Years passed, there were terrorists that gone this way, for they are tired travelling a long distance, they take snap under the big tree because they find it cool. The terrorist gave name to that tree which is Tugop, as the tree grows, there is a Aeta named Basilya who loves living in that tree because she loves living in a peace and cool place. As the terrorist always passed this way, they always take a rest in that particular place and then they became friends with Basilya. From then on, the terrorists name the Barrio as Agtugop as the combination of Basilya the "Aeta" and the tree "Tugop". So Barangay Agtugop was created.
