“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” Nelson Mandela.

Three pioneer beneficiaries of Asturias Dumdumon Ta Scholarship Program, Eden Cuizon, Marven Maambong and Florabelle Reeise Bardenas graduated Cum Laude. The program started in 2023 as a core part of Mayor Dongkoy’s advocacy for education. Their success is proof that financial challenges are not a hindrance to finishing a degree with honors when the right support is in place.

Beyond school, these scholars remained active in community growth, attending annual youth camps, summits, and various leadership trainings conducted by the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO). They have shown that “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts,” as Winston Churchill once remarked.

Mayor Dongkoy’s scholarship program will continue to support and train more scholars, as the ultimate goal of this initiative is to ensure every student has the tools to become successful.

Congratulations to our graduates! You are a true pride of the entire municipality!
